Student Storage Help

The UNT Student Storage system is a web-based file access program running on the Novell NetStorage component. If you are a currently enrolled student at UNT, you should already have a SIT/UNTSS account. Please look below for answers to some common problems or go to the NetStorage Interface Guide for step-by-step instructions on many of the functions.

Logging in:
  • What is my login ID?
    • Your Login ID consists of your EUID and context. Context is the first letter of your EUID plus 'students.unt' separated by periods.  Here is an example:
    • Example 1:
      • If your EUID is aer0081, then your context is .a.students.unt
      • This means your Login ID is aer0081.a.students.unt
    • Example 2:
      • If your EUID is wid0024, then your context is .w.students.unt
      • This means your Login ID is wid0024.w.students.unt
  • What if I don't know what my EUID is?
  • It won't let me log in. What do I do now?
    • If you have checked to make sure you are using the correct Login ID, you might need to change your password. Go to https://ams.unt.edu and use the Password Reset function..
    • If you are still having problems, you can contact the administrator at cterrell@unt.edu for further help.
  • I am using a Macintosh and it won't allow me to log in. What can I do?
    • There have been a few reports of problems with logging in using an Apple Macintosh computer. If you are having trouble, please use the following link that takes you directly to the Text View version of NetStorage: Text View Login
  • Should I let the Password Manager on my browser remember my login information?
    • If you are in a lab, the answer is no. If you are on your personal machine and it is in a physically secure location, you can use this service. Just keep in mind that anyone that uses your computer can get direct access to any files you store in your UNTSS account.

Using the NetStorage Interface:

  • Can I upload/download more than one file or an entire folder at once?
    • No. At this time the interface only allows operations on a single file at a time, but Novell has said that a future version will be able to handle multiple files.
  • My browser looks jumbled after I login to UNTSS?
    • You probably are using a browser with an older version of Java. You can either update it to a newer version, or use the Text View interface. (See the NetStorage Guide for more info)
